Challenge
21 years after co-founding and running a successful architectural practice in Chicago, Jean Dufresne was ready for something new. He wanted to start over with a smaller, more personalized architectural practice. He had a new name and visual inspiration in mind, and asked us to help him shape his new brand.
Solution
We created an identity, website, merch, signage, and 1-page brand guide for Jean’s new venture. We had a lot of fun closely collaborating with a visually creative client. Originally from a small town in Quebec, Jean named his new boutique architectural firm Moth after the pink and yellow Canadian Rosie Maple moth. The brand colors reflect that inspiration, with the addition of indigo blue to ground the joyful pink and yellow, and an accent of saffron orange.
Our logo concept is inspired by the line work of the framing of a building before the outer architectural layers are applied. To us, it signified dynamic architectural vision and the teamwork and trust that go into the building process.
