We help visionaries, leaders and makers tell their story effectively, efficiently, beautifully.

We are a strategic and
creative force for our clients.

Our clients have included global brands that are household names, the President of the United States, an iconic stock exchange, a soccer federation, a British university, a beauty conglomerate, a cidery, a winery, technologists, financial experts, non-profits, thought-leaders and more.

My Sister Fred is…

– Nimble. We're a small but mighty strategic creative agency with big agency experience minus big agency layers and foosball tables.

– Adept. We’re able to quickly understand complex businesses and tell their stories effectively and beautifully by translating business strategy into a creative strategy with engaging executions.

– Interested. We tour offices and factories. We interview stakeholders. We read white papers. We comb the internet. We talk to consumers.

– Boundless. We’ve had an efficient, distributed model since day one. We’re based in Austin with key collaborators in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and abroad.

–Determined. We dig deep to find interesting human insights + brand truths. We don’t stop at the first idea. We aren’t afraid to challenge perceptions—even our own.

–Diverse. We're multidisciplinary and we're proudly woman-owned, minority-owned and LGBT-owned. We bring a perspective that is inherently not the status quo.

Founded 13 years ago, our work encompasses strategy and positioning, advertising and communications, graphics and identity, websites, social media, video, motion and animation. Our owners are the lead creators of each project and serve as the primary contact for every client.

Our passion for our work is high and and our overhead is low by working remotely and collaborating with select specialized talent to meet the needs of each stage of a project. We value collaboration, ideas grounded in strategic thinking, human-centered design and marketing, work/life balance, nice people, and the pets who join our many Zooms.

“So what do you actually do?”

—The burning question asked at every family gathering

The cocktail party answer is, we’re an advertising and design agency. The longer answer is, we’re a strategic, creative and production resource for our clients. We align insights about your company, consumer, competitors and culture at large to create the right strategy that leads to impactful creative outcomes.

We help thought leaders and growth-stage companies evolve their brand message through creative strategy and refine their identity and communication with voice/tone development, design and content creation.

National and international corporations and nonprofits hire us for design and advertising projects that require experience and creativity crossed with maximum efficiency.

We write brand manifestos and other engaging narratives that help companies with sales enablement and investor interest.

We sometimes partner with marketing firms and advertising agencies on select projects.

Here are parts of our process, from soup to nuts.

My Sister Fred goes far beyond design. Through deep listening, they truly grasp the essence of their clients and their distinctive narratives.
— Dr. Stephanie Pace Marshall, Author, Educator, Thought-leader
My Sister Fred brings the best of all worlds to whatever they work on—great work grounded in exceptional strategic foundation. They “get it” when you need to deliver—and turn even a straight-forward assignment into a brand-building asset.
— Jennifer Telek, Fractional CMO

Creative partners Claudine Moreno Lormé and Mary F. Sylvester are the force behind MySisterFred.

To the annoyance of her parents and teachers, Claudine was the kind of kid who tenaciously asked “why” when presented with new information. It wasn’t enough to accept facts at face value, she insisted upon digging deeper. Now, she realizes her “why” was really wanting to qualify information, find insights and connect dots to understand the world better.

Today, she considers herself a “creativist” who helps clients shape their narrative through brand strategy and creative expression. Since starting MySisterFred, she’s helped guide several growth-stage companies through their strategic and creative evolution.

Claudine launched MySisterFred after a decade as a creative at ad agencies in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. Prior to her advertising life, she lived in Frankfurt, Germany and worked in marketing at Sony Music Entertainment where she was awarded 2 gold records. In 2010, she founded My Sister Fred, one of the first virtual, distributed creative agencies.

Claudine recently discovered the exhilarating joy of surfing, hikes daily with her dogs on local Austin trails and is an avid gardener who isn’t afraid to use a pickaxe (a must in rocky Texan soil).

Mary officially joined as an equal partner in 2017 bringing her global fashion and advertising production experience and creative chops as a photographer and ideator.  She’s a photographer and creative partner whose work is influenced by her love of art and travel as well as her experience as a model and producing films, photography and advertising for global brands. She worked as a creative content producer for Chaco, Claire's Boutiques, Gap, GSP, Hush Puppies, Jockey, Lands' End, Lenscrafters, Nordstrom, Sears, Spiegel, Transitions and advertising agencies such as Grey NY, Leo Burnett, EuroRSCG, FCB, Havas, JWT, McGarry Bowen, The Escape Pod, TDA Advertising and Walton Isaacson.

She stepped behind the lens to become a photographer in 2006 with an interest in shooting portraits and environments on location. She’s also a pianist, composer and world traveler. When she isn’t on location or exploring distant lands, she’s on Zoom.
